Our Story

Bruce Electric has been with the Browning family since 1979. John Browning Sr bought the business from the Bruce family after being their employee for an extended time. He continued building the business reputation throughout southern Illinois. The company expanded to include residential, commercial and light industrial services.

John Browning bought the business from his father 16 years ago. When it was bought, the business relocated to its current location on East Main Street. He and his wife, Leah have two children, Hannah and Zechariah, and live within the Marion community. Leah has been a school teacher in the Marion Unit #2 district for over 25 years.

Hannah, recently married to Ethan, is a graduate of SIU-Edwardsville and has been teaching with the Williamson County Special Education Cooperative for 5 years now. Zechariah has completed his apprenticeship and plans to continue in the electrical trade, aiming to become a third-generation business owner.

John has been an electrician for over twenty nine years and prides himself in great customer care and service. This family owned and operated business is exactly what our Southern Illinois community is looking for. Let us treat you like our family and service your electrical needs!
